Delter International Business Institute

The Delter School in Tianjin opened in September 2002.  Located in the main building of Xinhua shi gong da xue University, Delter’s modern classrooms and offices face Tianjin’s main street, Nanjing Lu. This is the main street in Tianjin with subway and bus stops within a block, so the school is convenient for students to get to and easy to find for first time visitors.

 The teachers’ apartments are a short 5 minute walk from its urban campus and is also on Nanjing Road next to the new subway station that is being built.  The apartments are less than 50 meters from a new, large department store that houses a western style grocery store, coffee houses, American fast food outlets and traditional restaurants.

Not only is the school at the center of the city, Tianjin is developing is such a way that Delter’s location is the boundary line for commercial development on one hand and commercial shopping centers on the other border.  And, for those who want to see and shop, eat and drink in “old” or traditional China, you need only go a block off Nanjing Lu to find your local.

While teaching the traditional Delter classes, Delter-Tianjin has pioneered the use of short courses.  The use of short 3 or 4 week courses allows the school to tailor its program to the special needs of Tianjin’s English language community.  Short courses on business topics, writing, vocabulary and oral English have proved themselves popular with the citizens of Tianjin.
