Glasgow Caledonian University

Glasgow Caledonian University welcomes students from all over the world and has an ever-growing international population from over 70 countries. The mixture of different people creates a positive, thriving and multi-cultural community.

We are sure that you will find being a student in Glasgow an enjoyable and rewarding experience culturally, socially and educationally.

Studying in Glasgow

Glasgow is the largest and wealthiest city in Scotland with almost 1 million people - almost 20% of the whole Scottish population. It is a lively, dynamic city that was once known as " The Second City of the Empire" because of the volume of trade that moved through its ports to the rest of the world.

Today this international background is reflected in the many nationalities living in Glasgow, making it a very tolerant city with a warmth and affection that is unparalleled anywhere. The cosmopolitan nature is reflected in the many and varied amenities available specifically for the minority communities, from specialist food shops and restaurants to places of worship available throughout the city.

Culturally Glasgow has everything you will need. It has recently been European Capital of Culture and was UK City of Architecture and Design in 1999. The city was voted the "UK's Coolest City" in a recent poll, as well as winning numerous other accolades for the quality of the student life in and around the city.
